Copilot in Excel and Creating Copilot Agents

This session is split into two sessions: Copilot in Excel and Creating Copilot agents.

Morning Session - Copilot in Excel
This session introduces users to practical ways Copilot can enhance productivity in Excel, from cleaning data and generating formulas to building dashboards and analysing trends. It’s designed to help users apply natural language prompts to streamline complex tasks and improve confidence with AI-powered tools.

Afternoon Session - Creating Copilot Agents
This session guides users through designing and building their own Copilot agents, including understanding licensing, data sources, and prompt logic. It empowers users to use Copilot as a tutor and coach while creating tailored agents to support their workflows.

  • Level: Beginner-Intermediate
  • This is an in-person event, delivered on-site
  • Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

During the morning we will be exploring:
• Prompts and prompting – GCSE/natural language/prompt gallery
• Accessing Copilot in Excel – chat/app skills/work/web/GPT-5 etc
• Practical use cases:
o Clean and format data
o Generate formulas
o Conditional formatting
o Create a pivot table
o Generate charts
o Trend analysis
o Create a dashboard
o Multiple worksheets
• Individual exercise – test your skills

• What are agents?
• Licenced and unlicenced
• Accessing Agents
• Ways to create
• Designing – purpose/data sources/prompts
• Create an agent
• Test and publish
• Using Copilot to support the build – tutor, guide and coach

David Filmer

David is TSG’s Head of People Development and Microsoft Training and has been with the business for over 10 years. He has worked in learning and development for over 20 years, overseeing our internal people development needs, as well as collaborating with our customers to deliver Microsoft training to their teams.
